*Box Turtle*

Yesterday, I had a visitor in my garden :) a box turtle...this isn't my own picture...I got this from the internet...I was so excited that I forgot to take a picture of her :( but she looked exactly like this one.

She came, walked around a little bit and in the shade next to my fence she decided to stay, digged a whole with her back feet and sat there for about 4-5 hours...I think she layed her eggs...after that she put the dirt over it and left :(

I was reading about this kind of turtle and I read that they will hatch in 75 - 90 days...I have to mark the spot where she put her eggs that I don't go over with my lawn mower!!! That would be too cool if those little turtles would make it :)

The funny thing is, that my husband and I went to Jykell Island here in GA and we visited the turtle hospital...they mostly have big loggerhead turtles....I will attach a blog from them so you can see what they are doing...you will see a loggerhead turtle with a device on her back...I saw this particular turtle and they told us that they will release her on the 24th of May...I wish the turtle good luck and lot's of fun in the big water :) I'm sure she missed it...

Ah, Isn't that just too cool. Don't you just love it when things like that happen. I hope her eggs are fine where they are and that you are able to check them out when they are hatched.

Have a good one, Ivonne. Hugs, Jenny

I love turtles! They are masters of there own domain. They seem to have a game plan on life all their own! Our youngest grandson is nicknamed Turtle because he pretty much acts very similar...hides his head in the middle of chaos and seems to move at his own pace! Thanks for sharing Ivonne! Pam
